My Art Space 2009 3rd post

A few weeks ago, I was supposed to attend my art class/workshop; a spacious art gallery where you can see huge, massive, plenty of master pieces displayed on every corners and walls. As I mentioned earlier, the name is "My Art Space". Unfortunately, I received a last minute call from my contractor regarding my home renovation issues that could not be postphoned. So, I decided to continue doing my art water-colour painting at home instead. As you can see...this humble master piece offers you...for your eyes only...Any comment, you are most welcome.

Somebody once told me, "Look! In times like this, global financial crisis...many people lose jobs...marketeers! Huh! They're being laid off due to economic downturn...". That statements not only challenge me. Instead, it motivates and inspires me to go further as I believe that there's something out there to explore and not to be dampened by criticism... It takes again research and analysis; radical attitude, self regulate, self respect and a lot more courage. I told myself...whatever criticism, whatever comment..be good or bad... the good ones, I'll make good recipe. Whereas the reversed one , I'll change it into solution.

"Is it worth to choose 'Marketing' as your subject in school", says one friend of mine...Of course!.. especially if you would have tried Internet marketing business...why...the truth is out there!
Have anyone ever thought why I started blogging these days? It's my passion and stress free..
It's good to write something that relates about our lives, real lives that connect people of different background, culture, the way they live and so on..One man's meat is another man's poison.. who cares.. but reading is Universal..My point is I do'nt regret learning Internet Marketing Business because not only Knowledge is Power...It could take you to a greater heights...if you take the courage to move on.

When I first joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1982, I used to be the soft-spoken type.
Like it or not I had to face the music in whatever ways to pursue my dream to be a set designer. My best supporters were my family members who motivated me to achieve my dream. Specially my late father. I believed I had worked hard with many TV producers who too inspired me a lot besides the hardship we put together, the fun that we shared were always in my mind.

There were many sweet memories left behind me; and one of them was the day I sat beside Zoe Tay, who happened to be contesting with others in the THE STAR SEARCH at that particular day.
Before the 'Star Search' began... I had a feeling that this pretty lady could win a handsome price.. We do chat a little bit...I was a bit buzibody because everytime when there were special shows or events , we, designers do our part to contribute sometimes but many times we designers became 'kay poh'..May be for case study.

True enough..my guessing game did worked out. Over the years, Zoe Tay constantly changed her fashions beautifully. I even managed to do big project like Great Singapore Sales in 1997 at Takashimaya where Zoe was one of the artiste performing at the outdoor stage.
To Zoe Tay...I wish you the best...A DIVA of Media Corporation of Singapore...not to be forgotten.

Norjana Short Story:

Have you ever heard of a children's television programme named Aksi Mat Yo Yo?
This programme was brought to you in the early 1980's; the era where I was in Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, an organization now known as Media Corporation of Singapore.
I could'nt remember when but it was about twenty-five years back where I worked with this company as a set designer.

In the humble beginning, it started with only three hosts. two cats named Yo Yo and Ya Ya and a veteran artiste named Mat Sentul. Yo Yo was a male cat whilst Ya Ya, a female one...The format was basically entertaining; small sketches and infortaining too... more children actors and actress were added gradually. the idea was simple in the first place but later the backdrop of the set changed according to script contents...o.k. may be my description for the theme could be quite dry. But believe me, this programme has enlightened many hearts and souls of many viewers specially among the malay society in Singapore and may be Malaysia too. As for the children artistes, most of them have grown to become teachers, producers, proffessionals and so on... and as for me, I'm a home-maker who seems to be busy with my own activity...

My Art Space 2009 2nd post

Every Monday, as usual I attended the Art workshop at this Gallery Terraces called "My Art Space". It's located at Tanjong Pagar Road, just the opposite of Duxton Hill, Singapore. As time went by, I noticed more and more people participated the community club. We learned different kinds of strokes and techniques...anticipated the best results. We shared our common goals and interests. Not only we learned art skills; we interacted and enjoyed the room music; having so much fun...We are of international races; from USA, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and etc. Of course, I'm from Singapore. It's time for me to pen off. See you there...in Singapore.

My Exclusive Setting of Hari Raya Haji Programme.

Here was the Main Set of a Malay Entertainment
programme that connected me with some local
Singapore Artistes in the era 1990's.

I used to interact with the local artistes upon
completing my job as a set designer. It was fun
to meet up and getting to know some of them.
In fact, these people are sincere and very much
co-operative towards the making of this
entertainment production. I'm not sure how
today's programmes are run because I'm no more doing these kind of stage setting as I'm
not in the business anymore.

Exclusive Setting Of Children Hari Raya Show

This snapshot was part of the Children Hari
Raya Malay Entertainment Programme in
the era 1990's.

Those costumes worn by the children reminds
me of TWITTER...Add Twitter to your life and
follow the new revolution of 2009.

Exclusive setting- Bangsawan 2009

These days, we seldom heard of "Bangsawan", a heavy drama/ an opera play once famous in the late 50's to 90's shown on television set. I wonder whether young generation can accept this kind of theatre presentation...story line based on pure fictions. However, with the existence of Lord of the Rings; the idea-'Bangsawan'could be enhanced and innovated in certain ways and style. Something like 'Lord of the Rings' concept.

My Art Space - 2009

A week ago, I watched a Malaysian drama titled "BELLA". It caught my attention of doing something that I had forgotten for so long. I used to draw and paint when I was in secondary school and taking my "A" level examination. I believe ARTS is my partial strength besides doing other activities. That's my specialty too. So, I surfed the Internet and managed to find "My Art Space" community; located exactly opposite the Duxton Hill, Singapore.
Alright, so I registered with them; having options as to pick up the oil painting first or the water colour. Well...I choose water colour having thought that it was simple and easy to do. But I was wrong...it was'nt.. The emerging artists are from various countries like USA, Canada, Australia, Malaysia and many parts of the world. Surprisingly, only a handful of Singaporeans are involved in this activity. I'm the only Malay Singaporean to be in this club currently. It was fun and relaxed...besides I'm able to make friends with these people who are mostly female artists ranging from aged twenty plus to sixty plus. You see... who says we have not much activity. Follow me and see you there.

I found LFI Wellness Sanctuary!

It is recommended that a woman whose age reaching 40's, should go for health screen test or body composition analysis. Recently, a friend of mine called to notify her new office at LFI Wellness Sanctuary. Imagine...we did'nt see each other for several years; and when we did, it was amazing to see her lose weight in a few months.
By looking at her, there is a message that I should be aware of my own image. Often, many women take the shape of an apple instead of a pear as they grow older especially without doing enough exercises and having the carbohydrate intake at night.

To gain weight is dangerous. Another word is obesity; an excess proportion of total body fat which can be harmful to your health. It rapidly increases your risk to heart diseases and diabetes; not to forget cancer too sometimes...
So, people...be aware of being overweight or obesity..
If you have physical problems, like difficulties in walking or running;
pain in the knees and back; high blood pressure; high cholesterol...
these may lead to cronical heart diseases.

Before it's too late, why not have a body composition analysis at LFI SINGAPORE,
HEALTH & FITNESS SCREENING; LFI Wellness Santuary at Marine Parade Central , S'pore.
See you there!
